Mike Blabac
Mike Blabac was born in 1973. He was always interested in photograph, and spent hours studying the work by legendary skateboarding photographers Luke Ogden, J. Grant Brittain, and Spike Jonze. At age 20 after attending a photography class or just about a week he left to San Francisco, the heart of skate scene during the early to mid 90’s. In 1994 Brittain, the editor of Transworld at the time gave Mike his first big break, one full page, it was the photo he took of Edward Devera. In 1999 he started taking photos for DC Shoes, where he still works today as the director of skateboarding photography. Mikes style of photography would be action/sports. Blabac style hasn’t changed in the years, but the camera he may be using changed. His credo in photography would be that he loves it, he has traveled the world from photography, and met or took photos of some of the best skateboarders. I think Blabac photos are amazing and creative. One item of mikes could cost 100.00 but one that is signed or limited addition could be 250.00.
